The beauty of Nature.

The Mexican Sunflower

We have noticed the painted lady butterflies feeding on the flowers in our polytunnel. By growing more unusual flowers we are incorporating  them into our bouquets and bags of love. This supports important insect populations including butterflies which may be under threat from climate change.

What amazing color, not just the flowers but our painted lady butterfly who has probably travelled all the way from Morocco to find a food source in our tunnel. How fantastic is that.

The flower is called Tithonia also known as the Mexican Sunflower. Fortunately for our friend the painted lady butterfly, this is one of her favourite food sources. This flower can grow between 3 and 4 feet tall and is a useful height for our floral arrangements.

We are proud to grow & produce our own seasonal home grown flowers that go straight into our floral arrangements and bags of love.  This in return reduces our carbon footprint. We are currently in the process of introducing a biodegrabable box that we will be using in our flower arrangements.
